In this class we will explore new ways of working with warm glass, and get to know the material from a different perspective than we are used to. We will experiment with fiber glass textile that is usually used for protective clothing designed for extremely high temperatures. It’s glass, only in a different form. Due to its flexibility we can cut it, stitch it, and shape it before casting, creating visually interesting objects. Additionally we will work with various other materials such as plaster, glass fibers, glass colours, and use different techniques for working with glass in the kiln to create our pieces – be that vases, masks, jewellery or any free object that comes to our mind. Let your imagination and creativity run free, and new doorways will open! All skill levels are welcome.
